Just a quick post on Orwell (history, demographics). Apparently not named for George: The date of the grant for Orwell, and what must have been Benning Wentworth's growing uncertainty over his position in the land-granting dispute with New York, give credence to the theory that the town was named for Francis Vernon (1715-83) the first Baron Orwell.

Hey NTodd,
Just wanted to bring to your attention that I have created a new online journal on journalspace earlier this week and, as my Blogaholics Anonymous blog has been dormant for a time while my energies have been focused elsewhere, I figured I would blog a post up on this new journal of mine about your travelblog (which is up now) -- especially since I will continue to include posts focused on Vermont related subjects and blogs, etc., on it of course.
It is basically an updated and shorter version of what I posted on the BA blog in the profile I did up about you and your blog(s).
